Join Clan MacAlister Society at the ‘Gathering 2009’ in Holyrood Park, Edinburgh, July 25 and 26, 2009

Clan MacAlister Society will be participating in the ‘Gathering 2009’ Holyrood Park, Edinburgh, July 25 and 26, 2009 and we are inviting you to attend this historic event with us.  This is a 'signature' event of the year of ‘Homecoming Scotland’, and will be the largest international clan gathering ever held in Scotland.

‘The Gathering 2009’ is being organized by Lord Jamie Sempill and sponsored by the Standing Council of Scottish Chiefs with most living Clan Chief’s in attendance.  The Gathering will take the form of a classic Highland Games and Clan Gathering.  In addition to hosting the World Heavy Event Championship there will be special Clan events including a huge Clan Parade lead by the Clan Chiefs with Prince Charles, the Chief of Chiefs, as the Royal Sponsor, in attendance.  It will start from Holyrood Castle and march up the Royal Mile to Edinburgh Castle Esplanade where a great Tattoo will be held in our honor.

The CMS President will be coordinating the MacAlister Clan Tent at the Gathering with Clan Chief William McAlester and Lady Jeanne Macalister of Glenbarr in attendance.

However, for you to be guaranteed to be able to participate in the Grand Parade and attend the Tattoo you must have a special “Passport Ticket”. To purchase one of the 8,500 available tickets you must purchase it as soon as they go on sale in early 2008. Tickets go on sale in March 2008 and they will go fast. Or, you can book now with one of the several officially approved travel agencies at the Gathering 2009 web site and get a package that includes your Passport Ticket.

The Clan MacAlister Society President, Dennis I. McAllister, will be coordinating the Clan MacAlister Tent and wants to invite you to attend this, once in a lifetime, event with the Board, Officers and Commissioner of CMS that have already committed to attend. As a special extra event we plan to have a MacAlister Clan Dinner, Saturday evening, July 25th for all the MacAlister Clansmen with Chief William MacAlister as Honored Guest.
